Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Eastcote
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the approach taken by Man with Van Eastcote to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. As a local removals and transport business, we recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to act ethically and transparently in all our relationships.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Eastcote operates a clear zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, and child labour. We do not accept or condone any practice that exploits individuals, undermines their freedom, or abuses their basic rights.
This commitment applies to our own staff, our agency workers, contractors, and every organisation that supplies goods or services to us. We expect everyone who works with or for Man with Van Eastcote to share this stance and to uphold the same high standards of integrity and respect for people.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Our core services include household and office removals, van hire with driver, and associated logistics in Eastcote and surrounding areas. Our supply chains are primarily focused on vehicle leasing and maintenance, fuel supply, packaging materials, warehousing support, and labour providers.
Although we operate at a local and regional level, we recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist in any supply chain, including those connected to transport, logistics, and temporary labour. We therefore take proactive steps to identify and reduce these risks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners that uphold lawful and ethical labour standards. As part of our onboarding and ongoing supplier management, we:
Require suppliers to confirm that they comply with all applicable modern slavery and human trafficking laws, as well as basic labour standards relating to working hours, wages, and health and safety.
Assess higher-risk suppliers and categories, such as labour agencies and overseas manufacturers of packaging materials, with enhanced due diligence.
Reserve the right to carry out audits or request evidence from suppliers regarding their own policies, training, and controls to prevent modern slavery in their operations and supply chains.
Expect suppliers to cascade equivalent standards and expectations down to their own subcontractors and partners.
Where non-compliance or concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree a corrective action plan. If issues are not addressed promptly and effectively, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Eastcote encourages an open culture where concerns about unethical or unlawful conduct, including modern slavery, can be raised without fear of retaliation.
All employees, temporary workers, suppliers, and members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicion of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business or supply chains. Reports can be made to any manager within Man with Van Eastcote or directly to senior management. Concerns will be handled sensitively, investigated promptly, and, where necessary, escalated to the appropriate authorities.
We will not tolerate any victimisation of individuals who raise concerns in good faith. Confidentiality will be respected as far as possible, and information will only be shared on a need-to-know basis.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those engaged in procurement, supplier management, and recruitment. Relevant employees receive guidance on how to recognise indicators of exploitation, how to respond to concerns, and the importance of maintaining ethical standards in all commercial decisions.
Monitoring, Governance, and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with the senior management of Man with Van Eastcote. They are accountable for ensuring that our policies are implemented, reviewed, and improved over time.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every twelve months to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, and the nature of our operations and supply chains. As part of the annual review, we consider:
Feedback from staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Any incidents or concerns raised and how they were managed.
The effectiveness of supplier due diligence, audits, and contractual controls.
Additional training or policy updates needed to strengthen our approach.
Following each review, we update our internal procedures as appropriate and communicate any significant changes to staff and relevant suppliers. By maintaining this continuous improvement cycle, Man with Van Eastcote aims to minimise the risk of modern slavery in all aspects of our business and to contribute positively to the protection of human rights.
